My Sister & Company!
Although I live in Chicago, IL, I LOVE my trips to the beach!
Not only because it’s nice to take in some sunshine from time to time and shoot amazing destination weddings by the ocean or on various islands on the coast, but because my family lives there!
My visit to the beach this past fall was very short, but we squeezed in this quick shoot at Brookgreen Gardens right before I headed to the airport and I am so glad we did!
So what do you do when you have 5 subjects and ten minutes to shoot them?
Find a shady backlit spot and go to town!

What an awesome event this was, it was clearly a very tight knit group of people who love Pete & Nikki. If it’s possible to have too much fun at a wedding, I think most of their guests accomplished this!

Huntington State Park Family Portraits
Last weekend I photographed The Hensley Family at Huntington Beach State Park in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
The weather was very fine, but not nearly as fine as the faces!

Portrait of Hope
Anna is the founder of the Hope Refugee drop in center in Buffalo, NY where she helps refugees from all over the world learn job skills and become financially stable as transplants into our country.
I met Anna in college, and was always impressed with her desire to serve and help others. From serving in the Peace Corps in Africa to providing emergency translating services in hospitals, Anna is always ready to fill a need.
I am so blessed to call her a friend, she has helped me in so many ways in the past and I will never forget her generosity.

In April I will fly to Buffalo and do a photo essay on the Refugee drop in center and a day in the life of one awesome woman!
