Warsaw New York Family Portraits

If you follow my blog or my work then you know that I get to travel quite a bit. It is most common for me to travel for wedding clients, but sometimes I get to travel for a family portrait as well!

Deanna is a friend of mine who also is a professional photographer. It’s always flattering to be hired by another pro!

They live in Warsaw, NY which is one of the beautiful hidden gems in Western New York! They hired me to come down to Warsaw and photograph their whole family, including their dog, Pirate!

This is their beautiful baby V, completely secure and happy in the air! Polka dots to die for!

A nearby filed where everyone can snuggle and play and kiss those adorable cheeks! When I shoot a family portrait I do some posing, but I also love to get real interaction!

Warsaw is a beautiful and historic town, and we found several unique places to shoot for the portrait session. Below is a gorgeous building completely covered in green ivy, which was a fabulous background for their colorful outfits!

V is so cute when walking!

Right across the street was a colorful brick building, so I took advantage of the shade and colors before moving on to the next spot!

If you own a dog, then you know that no family portrait is complete without your best friend. Pirate kept an eye on me during the entire shoot, and even seemed to get a little jealous when he wasn’t included in the poses!

Deanna is currently decorating her house with these prints, I will share the result with you soon!

Valley Lo Club Wedding

I met Chris & Sarah over coffee about a year before their wedding. I was so happy when they chose me because they wear their love on their sleeves. Chris is gentle, sincere and attentive and Sarah is the personification of expression and empathy!

In Love In Chicago

In a few weeks I will get to photograph Ryan & Nicole’s wedding at The Debordieu Club, which is one of my favorite destinations in South Carolina!

Nicole is Native to Chicago, so having this family session here meant a lot to her. The three of them were in town for a friend’s wedding so we took the opportunity to have their session at a classic Chicago photo spot, the Adler Planetarium!

I love shooting there because it has a gorgeous view of this beautiful city of Chicago, as well as lots of hidden gem spots for photos!

They are such a playful and affectionate family!

Thank you, Chicago for being so gorgeous, and thank you Ryan and Nicole & Haley for being so FUN! I can’t wait to see you all again!

Love Is In The Air

Sometimes you run into someone and just feel instantly connected; that even though you barely know this person you would do anything for them because goodness, kindness, love and compassion ooze out of them.

That is how I feel about Jenna & David. I photographed their engagement session at the Lincoln Park Conservatory and Montrose Harbor last August so that they could send out their Save The Dates, knowing (sadly) that I would not be able to photograph their wedding in Israel.

Today I am blessed beyond belief. Today the universe gave me what I have wanted since the moment I found out these two were engaged. Today I found out that I will be flying to Israel next month to photograph the wedding of these two wonderful souls, and I am overwhelmed.

Love is in the Air

Sunny & Tania Engagement

Sunny & Tania chose Adler Planetarium as the primary location for their engagement shoot, and it’s a spot that I highly recommend if you are in love with the Chicago skyline!

It was a surprisingly blustery evening, so after about 20 minutes by the lake we had to head inland to get away from the wind. We drove to Union Station and got some lovely evening shots in the city.

Amee & Carlton – In Good Weather and In Bad.

Amee & Carlton hired me to photograph their engagement portraits, the night before the eloped in Chicago! Their drive from out of state took longer than expected, so it was late evening before they arrived. The fog rolled in with quite a temper that night, but I was fortunate to get a few foggy shots before the thunder cracked down!

This first set was taken outside the Adler Planetarium. It was so foggy you could not see the water or the skyline of Chicago.

These two were so stylish!

This was the reflection on the planetarium glass door. what a beautiful evening.

Normally you can see the entire city of Chicago from this perspective!

Once the thunder and lightening cracked down, they made a quick change into their wedding outfits and we drove to cover!

What These Eyes See.

I know I am lucky, you can tell me again and again but trust me, I already know. I am an artist, and even better, I am paid to be an artist.

As if that isn’t enough, add on top of that fact that I get to photograph beautiful people at beautiful events looking their best and it is a constant flow of creativity!

BUT WAIT! THERE’S MORE!

All of those fabulously lucky things would be nearly meaningless if I didn’t have clients that trusted me. They trust me completely, and on such a crucial day. This trust gives me the freedom to look around me and be as creative as possible with what these eyes see.

Most people would have seen a pile of dirt and a garbage dumpster by the smoking area for staff at a pub.

I saw light bouncing off a reflective yellow building and back onto this little bush I put Kristen & Jon in front of.
