Prem and Shahzeen were married on September 11 in the Downtown Islamic Center in Chicago, IL. Afterwards we went around the city to some locations that were meaningful to them in order to get some fun and playful portraits to commemmorate their Nikkah before the big celebration this coming weekend! Our fist stop was the Artists Cafe and then we moved on to The Vermillion on Hubbard Street.

- As I was shooting by the Vermillion a homeless man started chatting with me about my photo gear. Then he asked me, “Is that a princess?”
- She really did look like a princess. ”They were married today, ” I replied. “But they do look royal, don’t they?”
- The man asked Prem for something to eat, and while Prem could have brushed him off with a few dollars, Prem promised the man some food when we were done at this location
- I guess that is the kind of realness that I love to see. On his wedding day a man takes time away from his busy schedule and buys a hungry man food, even though he has people waiting on him at an hourly rate.
- It doesn’t matter what religion you ascribe to, or if none at all, I believe in love. “May God bless the man who says less and does more.” (Umar). You two are beautiful inside and out! I am so super psyched to work with you again this coming weekend!
