Apache Art Monday

During my recent trip to Atlanta, GA I was hosted by the most amazing Barry Williams, a photographer from Atlanta who can cook better than (yes I am going to say it) my mom. (SHHHH)

He is a force to be reckoned with.

For some reason his nickname is White Boy, I still can’t figure out why . . .

We went to a sweet little art cafe called Apache Cafe in Atlanta, GA

Apache cafe has models every Monday night, it’s a really great spot and I highly recommend checking it out. This guy was my favorite character of the night.

Terry Scopelliti gave a talk on his works that were on display

Barry Williams and Eric Parsons chillin’ with Yoda after a long night of music and art.

I am off to Los Angeles this weekend to shoot a wedding and can’t wait to have Eric lug my gear around. The only bummer is that Barry will not be there to cook for us!

You two are so awesome and I miss you!

DJ Elixir Does Hotlanta!

When I was recently in Atlanta, GA shooting Amy & Jon’s wedding

I had the opportunity to photograph some promo portraits for DJ Elixir!

We scouted for some colorful graffiti and scored big time!

Elixir gives his vinyl some love.

Scott, The Drummer™

Scott, The Drummer™. What can I say? The minute he got lost in the parking lot driving me to the photo shoot was the moment I just knew we would get along smashingly. Smashingly being the key word here, as we nearly wrecked his little Prius when he made a left turn into oncoming traffic the wrong way on a one way street in Las Vegas. But I digress.

So as the light was quickly fading, and we were heading out of Vegas to get to get to a good portrait spot I realized that what was supposed to be a two hour shoot was quickly turning into a one hour shoot because of said parking lot misinformation and near smashing traffic event. Luckily for me, Scott takes direction well.

“Just, go stand over there or something.”

The temperature drops even faster than the sun in the desert. I think Scott was feeling it in this shot . . .

And the sun disappeared even faster than I predicted and we ended up with about a half hour of shooting time. Thank God I didn’t let him stop at the In-n-Out Burger, I’m such a cruel photographer and love to starve my subjects. Especially when they make me late to freezing cold desert shoots.

And here we have it, folks. Evidence of unidentified objects in Area 51!

Scott you positively rock. I had a sensational time NOT dying with you. I hope I get to not die with you again sometime ;-)
