Nance Family At Debordieu, SC

The Nance family was vacationing at DeBordieu, SC and wanted to have some candid and group photos taken while they were all together. Piper Warlick, a fun and talented photographer from Charlotte, NC, referred them to my work and I am so glad she did!

I photographed for about 2 hours, one on the beach and one at the beach house. You can see all my favorites on their facebook album!

Justine & Michael Make Faces TOMORROW!!!

A couple of weeks ago I got to meet Michael & Justine, whose wedding is TOMORROW!!! I am so excited to work with them! Not only are they creative and in love, but they keep me on my toes with their incredible ability to have fun and make faces!

We went to Montrose Harbor in Chicago for the shoot, which is where they had their first date! They trails by the bird sanctuary led us to an incredible view of the city skyline and sunset, and lucky for me the flowers were also in bloom!

Huntington State Park – Baisch Family Playtime!

How awesome is it that I live on the beach?

Sometimes it feels like I’m almost cheating because when the weather is right, at the right time of day, it’s almost impossible NOT to get amazing photos!

The Baisch Family asked me to do a candid portrait session for them at Huntington State Park this past Wednesday, and it was one of those perfect evenings!

Framing Families

Sometimes I think I am just plain lucky. I get to frame moments like this and give these pictures to families that will remember this exact moment forever. I shot the Horn Family this past Monday at Myrtle Beach State Park. When I shoot portraits for families I like to focus on two things. First, what will they want to put in a frame? What will go on their wall from this shoot? Secondly, what will describe their family dynamic? These are the shots I take to satisfy my artistic desire. Of course, I always hope that both of these types of shots will end up on their walls:)

Portraits can describe family dynamics, I love the energy in this photo.

The cuteness factor in this family is simply overwhelming!

Jeff and Cara are amazing parents. Not only are they raising three amazing, fun, unique children but they have a beautiful committed love that I truly respect.

It doesn't take much to keep kids happy at the beach!

Little Faces in Pretty Places

I love kids and families. Personality and birth order are very intriguing to me. I love studying people nearly as much as I like photographing them.

Meet Karissa.

Eldest of three children.

She was willing to let me test the light on her face before taking any “real” photos, a task which she took as seriously as any eldest child should.

Karissa takes modeling for the "test" shots very seriously. Wow I love her face!

And now, meet Naomi. Middle child extraordinaire!

Prim pony tails cannot hide mischievous eyes . . .

Karissa gave me a sweet smile after I begged her to keep a straight face for ONE more test shot

And Levi, the youngest. but certainly not the smallest (anymore)

Myrtle Beach Tripp Family Portraits

This morning I drove to Cherry Grove to photograph Rachel & Ryan and their SUPER cute family!

The sunshine was on my side today!

What a beautiful family!

Emma was unstoppable!

Noah found many treasures :)

This is a classic scene of older brother and younger sister.

He explains the composition of the rock while she whips it into the ocean. I love kids!

Rachel’s sister Ashley posed for me, pregnant with her second baby!
